Colleen Goss

Craft Hairdresser

EHPAWB-17.jpg

Colleen is originally from Germany and has lived in Winston-Salem since 2015. She’s been a hairstylist for more than 11 years, three of which focused exclusively on training and assisting other stylists. She always thought that knowing how to cut hair would be a valuable skill, and after completing a two-week salon internship in the ninth grade, she knew it was also something she enjoyed and wanted to pursue as a career.

While Colleen absolutely loves the art of cutting hair, one of her favorite services is coloring hair—especially natural-looking color with dimension. She is partial to soft, blended styles regardless of the shade of hair. If every client would invest in a professional tool for their hair, Colleen would insist they purchase a good blow dryer, such as a BaBylis or Dyson.

A huge fan of Oribe products, Colleen’s absolute favorite hair product is Oribe Supershine/Supershine Light. She loves the way it preps the hair for styling and its flexibility—it can be used on most any hair type. Oribe Canales also happens to be Colleen's favorite stylist and hair mentor, with Dominick Serna running a close second!

One of her biggest hair fixes was on a client with a balayage gone wrong. Instead of a balayage, the client had chunky, striped hair that looked as though it had been growing out at the root for six months. It took several long hours to do this color correction, but the end result was fantastic and completely satisfying for both Colleen and the client.

As for her own hair regrets, on a whim, Colleen decided to color her hair dark brown—as far as she’s concerned, that was not the look for her—she went back to red and has stuck with it ever since!
