Swedish Massage
This classic full body massage promotes relaxation and helps melt away tension in tight muscles, increase lymph drainage and blood flow, and stimulate nerve endings. We customize your massage with varying degrees of pressure and target areas based on your needs and comfort level
Deep Tissue Massage
Our deep tissue massage targets the inner layers of your muscles, tendons, and connective tissue by applying significantly more pressure than a Swedish massage, while still tailoring to your comfort level. Deep tissue massages help reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, and are especially beneficial for athletes, those suffering with chronic pain such as fibromyalgia, or for people with injuries.
Hot Stone Massage
Experience deep muscle relaxation via smooth, heated stones that work to alleviate muscle pain and tension. Depending on your needs and comfort, your massage therapist may use hot stones alongside traditional techniques to ensure you get the most benefits and relaxation from the experience.
Couples Massage
The ultimate self-care experience for you and your significant other, a couple’s massage allows you both to relax, de-stress, and enhance your overall health and wellness while enjoying quality time together. It’s the perfect way for you to feel closer to your partner, as couples massages relieve tension and sore muscles while releasing endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin hormones, which help you feel happier and more connected to each other.
Vichy Shower
All of our massage services include an optional, complimentary Vichy Shower treatment for ultimate relaxation, health benefits, and luxurious experience. Learn more about Vichy showers.
Specialized Massage Treatments
Sports Massage
A sports massage is tailored to athletes and active individuals to help muscle recovery, prevent injuries, or to enhance performance. The focus of a sports massage at Alkali is to improve range of motion and flexibility, enhance circulation, boost focus, and reduce tension and soreness in the muscles. We customize each sports massage based on your specific needs and use case for optimal, personalized results.
Prenatal and Postnatal Massage
Whether you're suffering from back pain, digestive issues, sleep disruptions, other pregnancy related discomforts, or you just want to pamper yourself, our massage therapists are here to help. We'll help alleviate any specific issues you're experiencing and help you get the relaxation you need for the duration of your pregnancy and beyond.
Myofascial Release Therapy
A myofascial massage is a special release therapy that focuses on gentle but steady pressure to relieve pain and tightness in your fascial tissues. Your provider will first locate any knots and trigger points, and then begin your massage to release the tension.

What is Fascia?
Fascia refers to the sheet of connective tissue that surrounds your organs, nerve fibers, bones, blood vessels, and muscle, and is what holds it all in place. Think of it like a spider web of tissue woven throughout your body that's four layers deep (superficial, deep, visceral, and parietal).

What Conditions Benefit Most From a Myofascial Massage?
Your provider will determine if Myofascial Release Therapy is right for you. Common ailments a myofascial massage can help are:
-
Inflammation and autoimmune disease
-
Fibromyalgia
-
Chronic migraines
-
Injury from accidents like car accidents or falls
-
Herniated disks and carpal tunnel syndrome
-
Repetitive stress injuries such as poor posture and heavy lifting
-
Scaring from surgery, burns, or joint stiffness
-
Chronic lower back pain and more

What is the Difference Between a Myofascial Release Therapy and a Deep Tissue Massage?
A deep tissue massage targets your muscles, while a myofascial massage targets your connective tissue surrounding your muscles. Myofascial therapy is usually a slower process, where your therapist applies gentle but constant pressure to release tension, improve mobility, reduce pain and improve your overall body function. A deep tissue massage is more vigorous and involves deep, firm pressure to relieve muscle tightness and address muscle pain.

Can Any Massage Therapist Perform a Myofascial Massage?
No. Only therapists specifically trained on myofascial release therapy can perform a myofascial massage.
Lymphatic Massage
A lymphatic massage focuses on gentle manipulation to relieve swelling, remove clogs and excess fluid in your lymphatic system, and to rid your body of built-up toxins. This massage is excellent for those suffering from inflammation and certain cancer treatments, or who want to relieve stress and reduce the toxicity in their body for improved overall health.
How Do I Know If I'd Be a Good Candidate?
Signs of a congested lymphatic system include:
-
Frequent headaches
-
Chronic fatigue
-
Frequent or chrnoic sinus infections
-
Brain fog
-
Bloating
-
Dry skin
-
Acne
-
Skin rashes
-
Swollen hands or ankles

If you have any of the following conditions, a lymphatic massage should be avoided:
-
Kidney failure
-
Stroke
-
Fever
-
Blood clots
-
Deep vein thrombosis
-
Infection
-
Cellulitis
It's always best to consult with your doctor prior to a lymphatic massage.

Benefits of Lymphatic Massage
-
Helps boost the immune system
-
Helps manage stress
-
Reduces fluid retention
-
Relieves neuropathy
-
Can also have cosmetic benefits for the skin

Cupping Therapy
Based on an ancient healing technique, cupping therapy is used to ease chronic pain in specific parts of your body. This is done via suction, which forces your body to replenish the cupped areas with a healthier blood flow and stimulates healing at the cellular level. While you may feel some tightness during your cupping therapy, the procedure is relatively painless.
After therapy, you may feel sore, but shouldn't experience high levels of discomfort. It's also normal to have marks from therapy that resemble bruises, but are actually the result of broken capillaries under the skin, which is part of the process, and will fade within two weeks. Cupping should only be done by a qualified massage therapist.
FAQ
Will My Massage Be Private?
Your comfort is our top priority. We provide a soothing, private space for your massage therapy so you can have a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and our therapists are trained to explain the process and respect boundaries.

Do I have to Undress For My Massage?
No. We want you to be as comfortable as possible. You can be partially undressed, fully undressed, or full clothed depending on your comfort level. Our providers will also ensure you're draped properly to maintain your privacy, regardless of which option you choose. If you opt for a Vichy shower during your massage, we will provide you with disposable underwear, or you may wear your own bathing suit bottoms. However, if you choose to wear your own, please note that you'll need to leave with them wet.

Will I Feel Pain During or After My Massage?
Depending on the type of massage therapy you receive, you may experience soreness after your appointment. It's also normal to feel some discomfort during certain massages, such as deep tissue work. Your provider will discuss your comfort level prior to starting your massage and will let you know what to expect. If at any time you feel pain or discomfort, just let your therapist know and they will adjust pressure accordingly.

What If I Fall Asleep or Make Noises During My Massage?
Rest assured, our therapists are true professionals. It is a normal reaction to grunt, moan, or make other sounds while experiencing relief from pain and soreness. We've heard it all. It's also normal if you fall asleep and start snoring. Seriously, aren't bothered by these things. In fact, we consider that a great compliment! Communication is key to getting the most out of your massage, so we encourage feedback throughout the process. Our goal is for you to feel completely at ease and worry-free during your appointment.

What Should I Do After My Massage?
Your provider will give you specific instructions based on the type of massage you received and any specific issues you're working on. But it's always good practice to drink plenty of water after your massage, as it rehydrates your muscles and helps detoxify and flush out toxins released during the massage.
