We have built-in ventilation at our nail and pedicure stations for a healthier environment for you and our nail technicians for enhanced wellness.
Alkali is the only nail bar that uses Estemio gel polish, a Korean cosmetic beauty polish (K-beauty technology) formulated with high-performing and premium, non-toxic ingredients free of harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). This nail polish is more concentrated and thicker than most gel polishes, and has incredibly vibrant and opaque colors that are chip and peel resistant for ultimate longevity. Estemio is known to be healthy and reliable, and its polishes come in beautiful, jewel-inspired, luxurious packaging.
Another thing you’ll notice is our pricing. Rather than charging for every add-on to your nail service—which can add up quickly—we charge an hourly rate. This means that whatever you want done during your nail service that can be performed within an hour is included at no extra cost. Pricing is more transparent, and you’ll always know how much your appointment will be based on the amount of time you booked.

Our technicians will soften and moisturize your feet, remove dead skin, trim your toenails and take care of your cuticles, and massage away tension in your feet and calves. Our Gel Overlays and Sculptured nails services are all encompassing and can give you any look you desire. Whether you're used to Gel X, acrylics, or dips, our nail artists can craft your desired nail length and look by sculpting your nails to perfection. We provide a more natural-looking, uniform look compared to other techniques, as each nail is custom-shaped to each individual finger for spectacular, long-lasting results.
We can also enhance your natural nails without adding length. This is an excellent option if you want to protect and strengthen your natural nails, if you have dry, brittle nails, or want your nails to appear smooth and polished.

Why don't you offer common services like acrylics and dips?
Alkali's mission is to provide beauty services and products that align with our core values. They must be safe, healthier for our clients, better for our environment, and high-performing.

Both dip powder and acrylics include toxic ingredients. Acrylic nails have Formaldehyde directly or produce it as a byproduct during the service. Furthermore, acrylic dust has been proven harmful to clients and nail technicians. It can cause allergies, dermatitis, asthma, and other eye, nose, and skin issues. It's also harmful to the environment, as the microplastics can seep into groundwater and end up in lakes or rivers. Many of the same ingredients, such as Ethyl methacrylate and Toluene, are also in some dip powders. Dips have a higher risk of being unsanitary and causing nail infections as well.
Why don't you offer Gel X?
While Gel X has safer ingredients than acrylics and dips, it doesn't provide breathability for the nail bed. This creates an unhealthy environment for the nail bed, leading to poor nail health. Gel X also has a higher chance for bacterial growth, as the service utilizes preformed plates that lay over the nail. Since every nail isn't the same, this can lead to misalignment, which allows water and bacteria to form, leading to nail fungus.

That's why we use Estemio's Dibutyl Phthalate-free gel. It can be used as an overlay, a builder, free formed, or with a poly form. The formulation makes the gel permeable by oxygen and water molecules, preventing them from getting trapped—making for a healthier nail environment less suitable for bacteria growth.

We can produce any look that can be achieved by acrylics, dips, or Gel X, while still maintaining your nail health, reducing health your overall health risks, and making less of an impact on the environment—all with stunning results.​
