Megan Billips

Megan was born in Yadkin County and has lived there her entire life. She's been a licensed cosmetologist since 2006 and has built her career on a passion for education, technical expertise, and delivering amazing guest experiences. Megan knew she wanted to be a hairstylist by the time she was 11 years old. Her grandmother's sister had a salon where she spent a lot of time, and she fell in love with everything about it—from the atmosphere and smells to salon conversations to the creativity. Throughout every stage of her life, that spark and passion for hair and the beauty industry never faded and are as strong today as they were when she first discovered them.

When Megan says education is a huge driving force in her career, she isn't exaggerating. She's invested in hundreds of advanced education classes led by renowned industry educators. Her foundation began with training through Vidal Sassoon Academy and Aveda, and she built upon this foundation throughout her career with training from Hanzo, Toni & Guy, Spoke & Weal, and more. When you sit in Megan's chair, you know you're in caring and capable hands!

Megan's philosophy is that every guest deserves to feel heard and feel valued. She loves making people feel confident and look their best. She strives to provide a welcoming and personalized experience for everyone and partners with guests to create a look that fits their personality and lifestyle. She's great at reading the room and adapts to her clients' energy, which ensures they have an incredible experience and service.

One of Megan's favorite services is doing a color root touch-up. They may not be drastic transformations, but they offer instant gratification and a confidence boost for the client, and Megan finds it incredibly satisfying to watch roots disappear as well. She also loves how root touch-ups give you a more polished, refreshed look between big color appointments.

Over the years, Megan's made her fair share of questionable hair decisions for herself that, at the time, seemed like a good idea. But looking back, these looks give her a good laugh and remind her of past seasons in her life. Her favorite personal hairstyle was inspired by Victoria Beckham’s signature bob. She was a huge Spice Girls fan and absolutely loved the sleek, iconic look.

Megan's biggest hair challenge happened early in her career, when she misunderstood a guest's request and gave them a cut they didn't want. This experience ended up being a valuable lesson that has served her well throughout the years, as it taught her how two people can hear the same words but picture something completely different. From that moment on, she began prioritizing thorough, personalized consultations and never assumed she knew what the client was thinking again.
